What is Continuous Access?

Continuous Access

Continuous Access means that the end user gives permission to share their bank account data for a longer period of time (for example 90 or 180 days), instead of approving access just once.

While this permission is active, you can receive updated information from the bank account, such as:

  • New transactions

  • Updated account balances

This helps keep the account information up to date without the end user needing to reconnect their bank every time.

How Does Continuous Access Work?

  1. The end user connects their bank account and approve data access.

  2. The approval is valid for a fixed time period (for example 90 or 180 days).

  3. During this time, the account data is can be updated whenever new information is available.

Important: Only One Active Bank Connection

Many banks allow only one active connection at a time.

This means that if the end user connects their bank account through another service while the current connection is still active, the bank may cancel the existing connection.

If this happens:

  • You will no longer be able to update the account data

  • The end user needs to reconnect their bank account to restore access

Summary

  • Continuous Access lets you access bank data for a longer period

  • Connecting the bank account elsewhere may interrupt your access
